Torrance & McKenna now officially supports Wheelchairs for Kids.

Wheelchairs for Kids has been operating for 19 years and has donated more than 35,000 wheelchairs worldwide to children in need.

Groups of volunteers manufacture and distribute up to 300 wheelchairs per month to disabled children in developing countries. These wheelchairs have ended up in all corners of the globe including Myanmar, Cambodia, Iraq and Zambia. The charity has so far donated more than 35,000 wheelchairs to over 60 countries worldwide.

Yogesh spends time each week helping to assemble wheelchairs before they are despatched worldwide. This brings him great joy each week knowing he is contributing to a cause that changes lives every day. It has brought Yogesh so much joy, in fact, that we have decided to make this our official cause in 2017.

Wheelchairs for Kids says that “for every $200 raised, a child receives the freedom of mobility and the donation also has the power to liberate a carer”. So even these small donations can make a real difference.

For the rest of the year, each time a customer purchases a Torrance + McKenna sofa we will be contributing to this cause. For sales of over $5,000 and $10,000, we will be donating $100 or $200 respectively.
